The Sacred Heart is here today because a 100 years ago a valiant band of five dedicated women from Belgium belonging to the religious family of the Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary chose to offer their lives to the people of the subcontinent. They arrived in Lahore, their new home on 28th October, 1897. They came to serve the underprivileged, orphaned children and the famine stricken from the state of Bihar. It was a heart-rending task but one that they lovingly and courgeously undertook because Love burned in their generous hearts.
We are proud of our present and past pupils who are ambassadors of what the Sacred Heard stands for which is summed up its motto "Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God" which in a shorter and better known motto is epitomized in Pray-Work Smile. Each Sacred Heartian is called upon to make it her bounden duty to make of our world a better place because they have passed through it. If this is so then the five women who came to our land one hundred years agao did not do so in vain.
I wish to close thanking my dedicated staff who make their valued contribution to the keeping up of the traditions of the School. And to all of you for the faith and trust you have in us by entrusting to us the sacred duty of educating your child.
May God continue to shower his blessings on us all. God bless each and everyone
